Nissan Unveiled March Nismo Concept

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has revealed the March Nismo Concept at Tokyo Auto Salon 2012. This surprise unveiling marks the third premium sports compact released from Nismo, following on the Juke Nismo Concept and the LEAF Nismo Concept.

Based on the Nissan March and fitted with Nismo exclusive parts, the March Nismo Concept is an expression of how a premium sports compact can marry practicality with exciting driving performance.

The concept's exterior features a lower stance and bolder styling thanks to a modified front grille design and the addition of dedicated, efficiency-enhancing aeroparts that were developed as part of Nismo's racing technology. Additionally, the door mirror design has been tailored, and a rear lip spoiler added, to further enhance the car's aerodynamic performance.

In the interior, Nismo's purpose-designed seats and steering wheel have been adopted to aid smooth interaction between the driver and the car.

The March Nismo Concept is painted pearl white with red highlights, the signature Nismo colors for performance-focused premium sports models, similar to the Juke Nismo Concept.

Fitted with several of Nismo's vaunted racing technologies, such as a high-performance suspension and large-diameter lightweight wheels, the March Nismo Concept delivers superior handling and stability that adds to the pleasure of sporty driving.

Hyundai Motor Company has held the world premiere of its newest concept, a multi-purpose vehicle called “Hexa Space” at the Auto Expo 2012 in New Delhi. The new concept revolutionizes the use of interior space, another example of Hyundai’s “New Thinking. New Possibilities.

Hexa Space, codenamed HND-7, carries Hyundai’s characteristic “Fluidic Sculpture” design language, including the bold character lines on the side panels. Inside, Hexa Space incorporates other elements of family design, such as Hyundai’s distinctive hexagonal grille, which is applied to the seat designs.

The vehicle features eight slim, hexagonally shaped seats that fit together like puzzle pieces, maximizing internal space while minimizing vehicle width. From honeycombs to architecture, the hexagon is known as an optimum shape for space efficiency.

Hexa Space is targeted at young urban families in their 30s and 40s; customers who live a practical and demanding lifestyle in the bustling and exciting cities of the world’s emerging economies. These customers need their vehicles to serve many roles and Hexa Space satisfies those needs with its unique seat design.

The seats offer multiple configurations for seating ? center seats fold flat for greater comfort, the second row folds flat to create a limousine function, the back row folds flat for light-cargo use. In addition, seven seats fold flat for heavy hauling and all eight fold flat for camping. The center seat in the first two rows of Hexa Space is positioned slightly behind the seats on either side, allowing passengers to sit three-abreast without feeling cramped.

Getting in and out of Hexa Space is easy, thanks to its innovative door design. The rear doors lift out and slide back, creating wide-open entry on each side.

Hexa Space’s interior is completed with high-tech features, including a touch-screen center console, a push-button shifter and a cluster ionizer air purifier. Several storage spaces are tucked throughout the interior.

Despite the roomy interior, Hexa Space maintains a narrow overall width, key for maneuvering the crowded urban streets of India and the world’s emerging nations. Hexa Space shares a platform with Hyundai’s compact ix20 and is only slightly wider.

Externally, Hexa Space is 4,300 mm long, 1,820 mm wide and 1,647 mm high, giving it substantial headroom. The wheelbase is 2,750 mm and runs on 19-inch tires. Hexa Space is powered by Hyundai’s Kappa 1.2-liter turbo GDI engine, which is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Mazda Car Price Raised in Indonesia

Mazda Indonesia seemed to rise the cars price which are marketed in Indoneisa at the begining of year 2012. The information reported in oto.detik.com stated if the price all Mazda car model will be rose. The increase price is relatively flat about Rp. 1.2 million rupiah.

Just look at Mazda2 prices HB S M/T that had been released at a price of Rp 179 million, is now 'adjusted' to $ 180.2 million. While for the Mazda2 HB type R A/T, Mazda off the price of USD 212.2 million, up from the previous price in the Rp 220 million.

The price increase also occurred in the Mazda2 sedan, Mazda CX-7, Mazda CX-9, Mazda6, Mazda8 up sports car Mazda MX-5 and Mazda RX8. Chances are, this price increase due to higher taxes and customs behind the name that is going up every year.

Mitsubishi Pajero Platinum

Mitsubishi Motors Australia (MMA) has launched the latest generation of Pajero, named as Pajero Platinum. The Pajero Platinum will be produced in a limited edition, only 2,000 units produced.

The Pajero Platinum will be based on the Pajero GLX. This car is equipped with a dark film glass, chrome door handles, chrome side mirrors house, side steps, a pair of fog lamps, and chrome-plated grille. Pajero Platinum is equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels, headlights dusk sensor and rain sensor on the windshield wipers.

At the interior, the driver will be pampered with Mitsubishi's Multi Communication System (MMCs), with voice commands. The steering wheel is made from leather enriched with the audio controls. For the convenience, passengers will be served by Rockford Fosgate audio system 12 speakers with 850 watts of power. The cabin looks more exclusive because it uses a carpet.

Pajero Platinum is powered by 3.2-liter diesel engine with automatic transmission. This car is offered in six colors, namely Warm White, Cool Silver, Black, Graphite, Ironbark, and Champagne.

This limited edition Pajero priced at AUS $ 59,900, or about Rp. 552 million, and only to be marketed in Australia.

Suzuki A-Start Will Enter the Indonesian Market

PT Indomobil Suzuki Motor (SIM) is reported has proposed to the Ministry of Industry to obtain import permits of the Suzuki A-Star. As Kompas.com reported, A-Star will be marketed next year by PT. Indomobil Suzuki Motor.

A-Star is a 5-door hatchback made by Maruti-Suzuki in India. Principal in India placed Suzuki A-Star between Estilo and Splash. Nevertheless, it costs almost the same as the Estilo, which is in the range of Rs 400,000, equivalent to Rp 68 million.

Kompas.com reported if the A-Star price in Indonesia will be more expensive,it is because the A-Star is imported as CBU and the origin country is not from Asean region, where it will be taxed higher at around 40 percent. As a result, like Karimun Estilo, the A-Star in Indonesia should be sold at Rp 130.5 million. A-Star is possible to be sold in the range of USD 135-140 million rupiah.

Suzuki A-Star body is smaller than Estilo and Splash (named Ritz in India). Nevertheless, this car is wider and lower than Karimum. But the wheel axis distance is equal. A-Star is equipped with KB10 engine, a capacity of 998 cc, the same used in Estilo. The advantages of this engine, maximum torque is obtained at low speed, 90 rpm Nm@3.000.

This machine is made of aluminum, plastic suction channel, without a distributor ignition system, the supply of gas through injection and without the rocker shaft DOHC. Maruti-Suzuki claims a fuel consumption of 19 kpl.

Toyota Sales Up 50 Percent in December 2011

The sales of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) in December 2011 began to recover gradually with improved component supply from Thailand.

In December 2011, the Toyota car sales is expected to reach 23,000-26,000 units or increase of at least 50 percent compared to November sales of 15,256 units.

As reported by Kompas.com, "The sales in December will be better than the previous month, along with the restoration of supply of spare parts and cars imported from Thailand. The flood impact in Thailand (against the sale of Toyota cars) was greater than the earthquake and tsunami in Japan," said President Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) Johnny Darmawan.

With the performance until the end of this year, Johnny was sure, Toyota Indonesia sales this year expected to exceed Thailand.

"We expect to December sales figures Toyota will penetrate about 310 thousand units," he said."Maybe sales (Toyota in Indonesia) that can shift the (sales of Toyota in Thailand) since the country was hit by floods," says Johnny again.

The Accord Coupe Concept will convey the dynamic and aggressive profile of the ninth-generation 2013 Honda Accord set to go on sale in the fall of 2012. Acura to Debut Three New Vehicles at the 2012 North American International Auto Show

Acura announced today that it will unveil three all-new vehicles at the 2012 North American International Auto Show including an all-new compact sports sedan, a redesigned RDX crossover sport utility vehicle, and a concept version of the next generation Acura NSX super car.

The Acura ILX Concept is a styling study of an all-new luxury compact sedan scheduled for launch in spring 2012. To be positioned at the gateway to the Acura lineup, the ILX will feature three powertrains including Acura's first-ever gas-electric hybrid. Acura also will unveil a prototype of the 2013 RDX, the second generation of Acura's five-passenger SUV. Finally, Acura will debut the NSX Concept, which represents the styling direction for the next generation of Acura's super sports car.

BMW Indonesia Introduced the 5 Series Completely Knocked Down

BMW Indonesia has introduced the completely knocked down (CKD) BMW 5 Series in Indonesia. This series is assembled by PT Gaya Motor (a subsidiary company of Astra Group) in the local assembly plant Sunter, North Jakarta.

There are two variants are prepared for the Indonesian market, namely : the 520i and 528i, both of which are equipped with 4-cylinder engine, 2.0 liter, turbocharged TwinScroll TwinPower Turbo combines with Valvetronic, double-VANOS, and high precision injection. The assembly started this week and marketed in early January 2012.

After these two variants, there will be additional variants of the BMW 520d Advanced Diesel technology that began to be assembled in February 2012.

Additional production capacity in PT Gaya Motor BMW Indonesia needs to make an additional spend Rp 100 billion. Fresh funds are used to rejuvenate the assembly line facility, such as the installation of new equipment and supplies, as well as recruitment and training of staff.

BMW has Officially Unveiled the 6-Series Gran Coupe

BMW has officially unveiled thier new 6 Series, BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe. This Gran Coupe has 4.4 inches (111 mm) longer than the 6-Series Coupe. The car is unveiled to compete with the Mercedes CLS.

BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe is powered by three engine choices. The 640i has a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 320 PS (235 kW / 315 hp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). The 650i uses a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with 450 PS (330 kW / 443 hp) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. This allows the car to run from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, before topping out at 250 km/h (155 mph). The 640d has a 3.0-liter diesel engine with 313 PS (230 kW / 309 hp) and 630 Nm (465 lb-ft) of torque. Despite having the least powerful engine in the lineup, the car offers respectable performance as the dash to 100 km/h takes 5.4 seconds and the top speed is 250 km/h (155 mph).

All variant is equipped with eight-speed automatic transmission, where the rear-wheel drive is standard but all-wheel drive is optional on the 650i.

The cabin of 6-Series Gran Coupe is equipped with luxurious leather, heated front seats and dual-zone automatic climate control. BMW is also introduce the "4+1" seating arrangement, GPS navigation and a Bang & Olufsen audio system. For the exterior the xenon headlights and 18-inch alloy wheels is standard.

Mitsubishi Mirage Launch Will be Delayed

The Mitsubishi plan to launch its eco-car, which named as Mirage on April 2012, likely will be retreated. It is caused by the late of components supply due to the flood in Thailand. This information is reported by Bangkok post as Kompas.com quoted.

Mitsubishi has been planing to produce Mirace eco-car until 150,000 units car per year, both for Thailand and export markets. Previously Mitsubishi reported will be using 1.0 and 1.2-liter engine with MIVEC technology for this car with an automatic transmission system and equipped with stop/start technology to save the fuel.

For Asean countries, the 1.2 liter machine is going to be used as its competitors use with target fuel consumption is 20 km/l. The Mitsubishi Mirage has dimension: length : 3710mm, width 1655mm, height : 1490mm.

Volvo Car Corporation Launches Automatic DRIVe Diesels With the Same Fuel Consumption as Manual Versions

Volvo Car Corporation is already in the lead among European carmakers when it comes to reducing carbon dioxide emissions - and the journey continues with two new CO2 cutting initiatives:

The 1.6-litre diesel combined with automatic Powershift gearbox now comes with the same low fuel consumption and CO2 levels as the manual DRIVe versions.
At the same time, CO2 emissions from the turbocharged, 1.6-litre T3 petrol engine with manual gearbox are down to 135 g/km.

The new possibility to combine the four-cylinder, 1.6-litre diesel engine (115 hp) with the six-speed Powershift gearbox is available in four models: Volvo S60, V60, V70 and S80.
"For the first time ever, we have managed to bring the fuel consumption in variants with automatic gearbox down to the same level as in the manual versions. An impressive achievement by our powertrain experts," says Peter Mertens, Senior Vice President Research and Development at the Volvo Car Corporation.

Fuel consumption in the Volvo S60 with the 1.6D engine and Powershift is 4.3 l/100km. This translates into CO2 emissions at 114 g/km. The corresponding figures for the Volvo V60, V70 and S80 with the same engine and gearbox are 4.5 l/100 km and 119 g/km.

The low consumption and emission levels are the result of a number of technological improvements:

Friction between gearbox components has been reduced.
The engine and gearbox software have been modified.
The start/stop system cuts off the diesel engine when the car is still rolling (below 5 km/h).
All electrical systems have been optimised to create lower energy consumption.

Petrol powered T3 under 140 g/km
Volvo Car Corporation's DRIVe Towards Zero also includes improvements of the petrol engines.
By optimising the four-cylinder, 1.6-litre T3 engine (150 hp), which is available in the Volvo S60 and V60, the engine experts have managed to bring fuel consumption down do 5.8 l/100 km in the S60. This corresponds to CO2 emissions at 135 g/km.

The figures for the direct-injected T3 engine combined with automatic Powershift in a Volvo S60 are 7.1 l/100 km and 164 g/km.
"Keeping the CO2 emissions below 140 grams is essential since this is a level used by many fleet customers. We have managed to do this in the T3 version through a number of small, significant improvements. We have also optimised the gearbox gearing for maximum fuel efficiency without loosing the engine characteristics," says Peter Mertens.

European leader in CO2 reduction
Volvo Car Corporation leading position among European carmakers when it comes to reducing carbon dioxide emissions is shown in the annual analysis presented by the European Federation for Transport and Environment (T&E).
Volvo Car Corporation outperformed Europe's eight largest car manufacturers in 2010 by cutting overall CO2 emissions with no less than 9 percent.
"This excellent result is the outcome of a dedicated environmental focus under our "DRIVe Towards Zero" banner. One third of our research budget is earmarked for reducing CO2 emissions. Our new, upcoming Volvo Environmental Architecture engine range, which consists solely of four-cylinder engines, will ensure that we continue to beat our toughest competitors when it comes to fuel economy," says Peter Mertens.
