PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) has announced a massive improvement campaign (recall) of the Gran Max and Sirion in Indonesia for consumers security and safety reasons. There are 48,703 units of Gran Max and 3,227 units of Sirion impacted of this campaign.
As Kompas.com reported, if the recall is according to the evaluation of Daihatsu Motor Company (DMC) of Japan, at the Gran Max potential cracks in the spare tire holder which is located in the underbody. With increasing age of the vehicle and use on a bumpy road, the worst off and the spare tire can be dangerous to other road users, especially in high speed.
ADM ensures that until now there has been no incident experienced by consumers. Gran Max which indicated problems amounted 36,988 units of pickup model production year 2007 until 15 October 2010; 11,715 units Minibus model and Blind Van production year form 2007 until 23 October 2008.
While there are indications Sirion droplets of water coming out of the drain hose to wet the outside of the AC steering rack. This condition will cause corrosion and interfere with its function. Total 3,227 units of Daihatsu Sirion production year from January 2008 until March 2011.
All customers in Indonesia asked to contact the Daihatsu Access (area code) 500 898 to arrange for repairs at authorized workshops. The whole repair done free of charge or free! To repair Gran Max takes about 60 minutes and takes 50 minutes to Sirion.
